Scott was born in Birmingham, Alabama. Raised in the Trussville area, he and his family were members of Taylor Methodist Church.

Scott met his wife, Beverly in 1988 and they were married in April 1989. After living in Trussville for 5 years, they moved to Alabaster, Alabama in the fall of 1995. They started attending Helena Cumberland Presbyterian Church in 1996. Scott and Beverly have 2 daughters, Emily and Jessie. Emily is married to Trey Small and they have 2 sons, Henry & Beau. Scott and Beverly moved to Montevallo in 2021.

While attending Helena CPC, Scott felt the call to be a follower of Jesus Christ and in 2009 sensed God calling him into the ministry. Scott came under the care of Grace Presbytery and began attending Birmingham Theological Seminary.

Scott was called to pastor Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church in the summer of 2010. He and Beverly ministered there for 15 years.

Scott was called back to Helena, now Harmony Church of Helena, in February 2025. It is his joy and honor to return “home” and pastor those he considers family and friends. He loves spending time with the Lord, family, his church family and friends.
